Episode 26: Kate Healy | TSQ Podcast

Kate wears many a hat, but as a non Indigenous woman, and the background as a former corporate lawyer, she landed in a role leading PwC's Indigenous Consulting after waking up one morning wanting more meaning in her work.

Kate leads with a key vision, to enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island business owners and businesses the opportunity to play in the mainstream and creating shared value.

Knowing that organisations truly need a social licence to operate, Kate shared a timely case of Rio Tinto in 2020 blowing up 60,000 years of history and the ramifications and consequences that followed.

During Covid, Kate witnessed pivots and change, changed production lines and new opportunities opening for Indigenous businesses but knows that there is a lot more work to be done to create and action change.

For Australia to move to more equal and unified outcomes, Australian businesses are encouraged to engage with Indigenous communities through employment and procurement of products and services to have greater economic participation.
